Does UC Santa Cruz have housing?

The colleges at UC Santa Cruz offer two kinds of living accommodations—residence halls and apartments, both with access to common dining facilities. Nine of the colleges have both residence halls and apartments, while Kresge College has all apartments.

At this school, 5% of the students live in college-owned, -operated or -affiliated housing and 95% of students live off campus.

Where do Freshman live at UCSC?

Incoming freshmen are generally assigned to live in the residence halls at their college. Note: Kresge College is in the middle of a renewal project, which will include the opening of three new traditional residence halls for first-year students.

Apartments and res halls do not have air conditioning. Please be advised that housing does not include hotel-style amenities. Youth programs (18 & under) are housed in residential halls (dorms), typically two-four per bedroom. Floors are gender specific with a common bathroom on each floor.
