How do you bypass the immobilizer on a 2001 Honda Prelude?

Connect the grey wire and light blue wire together. You can solder and heat shrink, or even use a T-tap if needed. Leave the wire harness plug disconnected from the immobilizer control unit. Your starter cut from the immobilizer control unit is now bypassed.

How do you program a Honda Prelude key?

Step-by-Step procedure:

  1. Get into the car, close all doors and insert the key into the Ignition Switch.
  2. Turn the ignition to the ON position (the lights on the accessories should come on and the dash will light up).
  3. Within 4 seconds press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the remote transmitter for approximately 1 second.

How do I bypass Honda anti-theft system?

You can turn off your Honda immobilizer or anti-theft by resetting it. To do this, insert your ignition key into the ignition column, turn to the ‘ACC’ position, and return it to the ‘OFF’ position. After that, take off the key from the ignition. Then, re-insert it and switch the key to the ‘ON’ position.

What is Honda immobilizer system?

The immobilizer system protects your vehicle from theft. If an improperly-coded key (or other device) is used, the engine will not start. When you turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position, the immobilizer system indicator should come on for a few seconds, then go out.

What does the red Honda Key do?

The red key is a “learning key” used for coding purposes only. Together with an existing ignition key, it enables new keys to be programmed to the engine’s immobiliser system. If no ignition key is available, the immobiliser system cannot accept a new key, making itunserviceable.

How do I disable anti-theft immobilizer?

There are some cars that will recognize the key from you simply turning it back and forth in the door’s cylinder. It is best to try both methods: holding the key in the door, as well as turning the key both ways to disable the anti-theft system.

What happens when an immobiliser stops working?

Sometimes, it’s your car’s own security system that stops the engine from starting – if the immobiliser fails to recognise your key, then your engine won’t start at all. This may be a flat battery in the key fob which weakens the signal from the fob to the system.

How do you fix an immobiliser?

Many immobilizer problems can be fixed simply by simply replacing the battery in the key fob. Many transponder keys depend on a small battery to relay the security code to the car immobilizer. Be careful replacing the battery so you don’t accidentally damage the transponder chip inside.
