How do you stick 3m Command strips?
Easy on: Picture Hanging Strips
- Wipe wall with rubbing alcohol. Do not use household cleaners or water.
- Separate strips. Click strips together.
- Remove one side of liners. Stick on frame as shown. Press firmly.
Do you need rubbing alcohol for Command strips?
A: The 1-hour wait ensures that the adhesive has had enough time to build strong adhesion to the wall or surface. If cleaning is necessary, 3M recommends using isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
Do Command hooks stick to fabric?
You can use regular-sized clothespins or smaller craft clothespins depending on the weight of the tapestry and the look that you are going for on your walls. Attach the Command Strips to the clothespins. Remove the liner from one side of the Command Strip and attach it to the clothespin.
What can I use instead of rubbing alcohol for Command strips?
If you don’t wipe the wall with rubbing alcohol first, the chances of your Command Strip actually working are slim to none. Don’t have rubbing alcohol on hand but want to get something on the wall in a pinch? Reach for some vodka. I’ve done this and it works like a charm!
Will command strips stick to rug?

Why are my command strips not sticking?
You don’t press hard enough. The stronger you apply pressure when installing them, the better the strip will adhere to the wall. Read instructions carefully and make sure you press firmly along the whole strip, not just in one spot.

Press frame until each pair of strips clicks. For damage-free removal, slowly stretch the strip straight down against the wall.
