How much does a NovaSeq 6000 cost?

The NovaSeq 5000 and 6000 Systems are priced at $850,000 and $985,000 respectively. Compared with other Illumina sequencing systems, both have lower per sample consumable costs for most sequencing applications.

How many samples can be run on NovaSeq?

Higher yields from the NovaSeq S2 flow cell enable each flow cell to accommodate up to eight human whole-genome samples or two WGS trio samples, depending on desired depth of coverage.

How does the NovaSeq work?

NovaSeq uses patterned flowcells and a reformulated NextSeq 2-colour SBS chemistry (more on that in a sec). The system uses a the now familiar cartridge system from NextSeq for reagents and a single sample is loaded and clustered on each flowcell. Two flowcells can be run independently.

How many reads NovaSeq?

NovaSeq performs whole-genome sequencing more efficiently and cost-effectively than ever. Its scalable output generates up to 6 Tb and 20 billion reads in dual flow cell mode with simple streamlined automated workflows.

How many flow cells in NovaSeq?

four different flow cells
The NovaSeq 6000 Sequencing System now offers four different flow cells: SP, S1, S2 and S4.

How much does an Illumina NextSeq cost?

By the fourth quarter of 2020, Illumina plans to bring to market NextSeq 1000, which has a list price of $210,000, a maximum output of 120 Gb, and a sequencing cost of $30 per Gb.

How many lanes are in a SP flow cell?

two lanes
As noted in the table below, there are 4 different flow cell options: SP, S1, S2, and S4. Each flow cell has two lanes, except for the S4 which has four lanes. Each flow cell type gives a different number of reads per lane and the resulting yield depends on the run format (read length).

Is Next Generation Sequencing cheap?

NGS is significantly cheaper, quicker, needs significantly less DNA and is more accurate and reliable than Sanger sequencing.

How big is an Illumina flow cell?

NovaSeq 6000 System

Flow Cell Type SP S2
2 × 50 bp 65–80 Gb 333–417 Gb
2 × 100 bp 134–167 Gb 667–833 Gb
2 × 150 bp 200–250 Gb 1000–1250 Gb
2 x 250 bp** 325-400 Gb N/A

How much does NGS machine cost?

Examples of NGS Cost Per Sample

Application Estimated Cost Per Sample
Targeted gene expression profiling $23 USD
