How much psi should I put in my bike shock?

The exact PSI you end up with depends on how plush/firm you want the rear shock to be, but a good starting point is 1 psi for 1 lbs in weight of the rider (including riding gear).

What pressure Harley shocks?

Low profile rear suspension recommended air pressures: FLHX (STREET GLIDE)

Shock Load Total Weight Pressure
Rider with passenger weight of up to 150 lbs (0-68 kg) 20-30 psi (138-207 kPa)
Rider with passenger weight of over 150 lbs (over 68 kg) 25-35 psi (172-241 kPa)
Maximum GVWR See Label 40-50 psi (276-345 kPa)

How much air should be in motorcycle shocks?

DO NOT exceed 150 PSI (1034 kPa) in the shock. Use the INDIAN MOTORCYCLE Air Pump and Gauge (P/N PV-48909).

How much air do I put in a front fork?

Start with the recommended air pressure for your weight. If that is not known, try 100psi. On this fork it said l should be running 75psi for my weight but there was always about 30mm unused travel.

How do you adjust the front fork suspension on a motorcycle?

Set sag on front forks Use a cable-tie, compress the forks, let them settle and push the cable tie up to the outer dust seal. Get off, and take the weight off the front so the forks are fully extended. The sag is the distance it’s travelled.

How often should you check shock pressure?

Similar to tyre pressure, air sprung suspension pressures can diminish over time, so it’s best to give your forks and shocks a re-visit every 25-35 hours of ride time.

How do I set the preload on a Cannondale Headshok Fork?

For a Cannondale Headshok fork from around the year 2000, many have air springs which lets you set the preload just by adding more or less air. See the chart below for how much air pressure is recommended for different rider weights. Also remember you can set the air pressure for your riding preference too. This chart is a great starting point.

How do adjustable air shocks work on a Harley?

Adjustable air-shocks allow Harley owners to quickly and easily set the stiffness of the rear suspension. Shocks lacking sufficient air can bottom out; likewise, too much air will leave you bouncing in the saddle. Setting the proper pressure will improve the ride of your bike. How do I adjust the air pressure in the saddlebag?

If air adjustment is needed, first add 3-5 psi to the system before adding or removing any air. This will prevent the system from losing any fluids if it is completely out of air. Set the air pressure to the recommended value, as outlined in the charts above. With the air pressure set, close/reattach the saddlebag.

Why Cannondale suspension fork blades?

With this design Cannondale has a system that rolls and does not slide like other suspension forks. This also keeps stiction to a minimum. This assembly is pressed into the crown of a set of rigid aluminum fork blades. We use this “rigid” design to have a flex-free system that you can “point-and-go”.
