The Foundation Stage Forum, creators of Tapestry, fully supports child centred practice and assessment processes and we are pleased to be adding the Birth to 5 Matters document as reference material within our learning journal software.

What is Tapestry EYFS?

Tapestry is an on-line system which allows us to create an individual Learning journey for every child in Reception. We can add comments, notes, photographs and videos of your child and then link these to the Early Years Curriculum.

Does Tapestry use development matters?

You will also be directed to relevant reference material which can help you with your observations. This includes the Development Matters statements, ELG statements, Checkpoints, and Birth to 5 Matters statements, but also a variety of other useful articles and videos which have been handpicked by our education team.

Flags are sets of single words or phrases you can use to categorise your observations and reflections. You simply select the flag or flags you want to assign to the post when you’re making it, and use the Flags tab to find where you’ve selected it in the past.

What are the main changes in the EYFS 2021?

Physical Development will be strengthened to include a greater focus on development from birth to reception and on the link between gross and fine motor skills.
