Is P30 better than VP9?
The HK P30 is hammer-fired while the VP9 is striker-fired, but the differences go much deeper than that….Size.

Does a HK P30 fit in a VP9 holster?
Registered. I bought a used Safariland open top range holster marked ‘P30’. It fits my VP9 ‘ok’. There is some hangup on the draw.
Does the VP9 and P30 use same mags?
The H&K reps said the VP9 mags will fit in the old VP9, so I assume the same applies to the P30 line. At shot show they said it’s the exact same tube (plus 2 more windows ofc), just different internals so it will fit previous VP9s and p30s.

If you have the same amount of ammunition in each one, then it will be the same. Originally, both the HK P30 and VP9 shipped with 15-round magazines. Now, only some of the guns are shipping with 15-round magazines while others are shipping with 17-round mags.

There is no safety on the HK VP9, but the HK P30 is offered in multiple trigger variants. Depending on the variant you get, you can have a safety that will work to allow you to carry the gun cocked and locked, or you will even have just a de-cocker option on the gun.
