What does Cy3 stain for?

The Cy3 dye is a traditional orange-fluorescent label for protein and nucleic acid conjugates used for imaging, flow cytometry, and genomic applications. It is also the basis for the classic lipophilic tracer DiI and its variants.

Is Cy3 a fluorophore?

Cy®3 is an orange fluorophore commonly used in applications such as immunolabeling, nucleic acid labeling, fluorescence microscopy, and flow cytometry. The dye has an absorption wavelength that peaks around 548-552 nm, and an emission maximum around 562-570 nm.

Is Cy3 a protein?

Cy3 protein A is a red fluorescent protein A conjugate that has excitation/emission wavelength at 550 nm/570 nm.

Is Cy3 pH sensitive?

Cy3 excites maximally at 544 nm and has an emission peak at 564 nm (Figure 3B), and produces a pH-insensitive synchronous scan peak at 548 nm (Figure 4).

Can you use APC and PE together?

PerCP overlap a bit with APC and PeCy7. Pe-‐CF594 spill over a lot from and to Pe, don’t use together. PeCy5 spill over a lot to APC (bad), Pe and PeCy7. Avoid these combinations if possible.

Which is brighter PE or APC?

Compared to PE, APC is not as”bright”. This is due in part to its lower extinction coefficient and quantum yield. It is also because APC is red-shifted compared to PE. Thus, the light source used to maximally excite APC will contain less energy than the one used to maximally excite PE.

Is PE Cy7 bright?

PE-Cy7 conjugated reagents are as bright as PE conjugates. However, PE-Cy7 is highly sensitive to photo-induced degradation resulting in loss of fluorescence. Care should be taken to avoid light exposure and prolonged exposure to paraformaldehyde fixative.

Do FITC and PE overlap?

The FITC / PE Compensation Standard is to be used in conjunction with hardware or software to remove spectral overlap from fluorochromes into secondary fluorescence detectors of a flow cytometer.

Is Alexa Fluor 647 a tandem dye?

This enables multicolor analysis in conjunction with APC or Alexa Fluor® 647 and APC-H7 or APC-Cy7 reagents. 633 nm 635 nm 640 nm 780/60 APC-Cy™7 (Exmax650 nm/Emmax785 nm) is a tandem fluorochrome that combines APC and the cyanine dye Cy7.

Is Alexa Fluor 647 a tandem?

Due to nearly identical excitation and emission properties, but different spillover characteristics, APC and Alexa Fluor 647 cannot be used simultaneously.

Is APC brighter than PE?

It is also because APC is red-shifted compared to PE. Thus, the light source used to maximally excite APC will contain less energy than the one used to maximally excite PE. Compared to other red fluorophores such as Cy5, however, APC is still significantly brighter and an excellent choice for use in flow cytometry.

What is Invitrogen Cy3 dye?

Invitrogen Cy3 dye is a bright, orange-fluorescent dye that can be excited using the 532 nm laser line and visualized with TRITC (tetramethylrhodamine) filter sets. In addition to immunocytochemistry applications, Cy3 dye is commonly used to label nucleic acids.

What is Cy3 dye used for?

Cy3 dye. The Cy3 fluorophore is also the basis for the lipophilic neuronal

What is the difference between Cy3 and Invitrogen Alexa Fluor 555 dye?

The Cy3 fluorophore is also the basis for the lipophilic neuronal and long-term DiI cell tracing reagents, which append alkyl tails (≥12 carbons) onto the core fluorophore. Invitrogen Alexa Fluor 555 dye is a Cy3 dye alternative that is generally more fluorescent and more photostable than Cy3 dye, making it well suited for applications such…

What is the Cy3 fluorophore used for?

The Cy3 fluorophore is also the basis for the lipophilic neuronal and long-term DiI cell tracing reagents, which append alkyl tails (≥12 carbons) onto the core fluorophore.
