What happens at MEPS officer?

Completing a MEPS screening typically takes two full days of testings and screenings. The MEPS process includes a medical screening, aptitude test and enlistment in the appropriate military branch.

What does a MEPS physical consist of?

Your blood will be tested for HIV, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, RPR, and alcohol. There are also two different urine tests; one is the legal drug urine and the other tests for pH, blood, protein and specific gravity. You’ll take a hearing test, and an eye exam, including depth perception and color vision.

What happens at MEPS OCS?

While you are at MEPS, you will complete all the required tests and exams in one day. These tests include vision, hearing, blood and blood pressure tests, a pregnancy test (for women), an examination by a doctor, a height and weight check, urinalysis, breathalyzer and the ASVAB, if necessary.

Can you fail the physical at MEPS?

Permanent and Temporary Disqualifications If it is accepted, you will be able to process through MEPS, where you will take a physical that you will either pass or fail. If your 2807-2 is declined or you fail your physical at MEPS, you will receive either a Temporary Disqualification or a Permanent Disqualification.

How long does MEPS officer take?

Everything together should take two days, though there are some situations that may make things shorter or longer. Some people will go into their branch’s delayed entry program (DEP) and go home after MEPS to wait until their ship-out date. Others will embark to basic training immediately after MEPS.

If you are entering as an officer you’ll instead take the military oath of office. From the oath, you can see that you will be defending the Constitution — not a person. Discipline and accepting orders is sworn to.

Marines is the easiest to get into (not necessarily the easiest to complete, I do not want any former Marines to think I am calling it soft.

What is a good GPA for OCS?

3.0 or above
The most competitive packages have a GPA of 3.0 or above, particularly if the recruit is in one of the preferred majors below and has completed a calculus and physics sequence.
