What is Spectro Arcos?

Spectro Arcos (AMETEK Materials Analysis Division) is an optical emission spectrometer (OES) with radial observation of inductively coupled plasma (ICP). The SPECTRO ARCOS features a Paschen-Runge spectrometer mount, employing the Optimized Rowland Circle Alignment (ORCA) technique with 32 linear CCD detectors.

How much does an ICP-OES cost?

ICP-OES: A duplicate ICP-OES analysis for as many analytes as you require takes about 3 min. So for 10 analytes, this is equivalent to 20 samples per hour or 20,000 samples per year. Based on an annual operating cost of $5700, this equates to $0.30 per sample.

What is Spectro test?

SPECTRO metal analyzers are used to identify, sort, and analyze metals for incoming inspections, during production processes and before delivery. And that’s not all: SPECTRO metal analyzer instruments also play a major role in scrap yards, for internal recycling, at building sites and in chemical plants.

What does ICP-OES stand for?

Inductively coupled plasma – optical emission spectrometry
ICP-OES equipment ICP-OES (Inductively coupled plasma – optical emission spectrometry) is a technique in which the composition of elements in (mostly water-dissolved) samples can be determined using plasma and a spectrometer.

What is the difference between ICP-MS and ICP-OES?

But in general, ICP-OES is used to measure contaminants for environmental safety assessment and elements with a higher regulatory limit. ICP-MS, on the other hand, is especially useful for analyzing samples with low regulatory limits. In addition, ICP-OES has much higher tolerance for TDS (up to 30%).

Why is ICP better than AAS?

ICP-MS is more accurate, favourable, less time-consuming, and not cost-effective for measuring multiple atoms. In comparison, AAS is less accurate, less favourable, more time-consuming and more cost-effective.

What is a spectrometer and what is it used for?

In the broadest sense a spectrometer is any instrument that is used to measure the variation of a physical characteristic over a given range; i.e. a spectrum.

What is the cost of spectrometer?

Top Selling Spectrophotometer Price List in India

Latest Models Price

Wensar Double Beam UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, LMSP-UV1900S ₹357,655

What is difference between ICP-OES and ICP-MS?

ICP-OES quantitation is based on measurement of excited atoms and ions at the wavelength characteristics for the specific elements being measured. ICP-MS, however, measures an atom’s mass by mass spectrometry (MS).

What metals can ICP-OES detect?

Elements that emit brightly, including Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba, have detection limits of tens of parts per trillion (pg/mL) or below. A desolvation system following a heated spray chamber or ultrasonic nebulizer can further improve detection limits by ~10x.

What is difference between AAS and ICP-OES?

The main difference between AAS and ICP is that AAS measures sequentially while ICP measures simultaneously. For each element you analyze in an AAS, the instrument runs the test separately and each hollow cathode lamp emits its light and the absorption is measured for a single element in each run.

Why is argon gas used in ICP?

Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) reaches much higher temperatures than a combustion flame (>8000 K). Argon plasmas are conventionally used to provide a high-temperature, high-stability excitation source in ICPAES.
