When can baby wear legs out in Ergo?
Follow baby’s lead! Put the carrier around the baby in whichever position the baby is in naturally (as long as it is allowed per carrier instructions). If baby’s legs are naturally curled up, baby should be legs-in. If baby’s legs are naturally hanging down, baby should be legs-out.
How should baby’s legs be in a carrier?
Ideally, baby’s knees should be higher than the bottom and the legs should be in spread-squat position (M-like shape) and the carrier should prevent the baby from slumping. Baby’s weight should be borne by thighs and bum. It is recommended to carry infants in vertical position.
When can you take newborn insert out of Ergobaby?
If you are using an Ergobaby Original or Ergobaby All Position 360 Carrier, you will need an infant insert when wearing your baby between 3.2-5.5kgs / 7-12lbs or approx. newborn to 4 months old. Our Adapt and Omni 360 carriers can be used from newborn (min. 3.2kgs/7lbs) with no need for an insert.
Can you use ERGO infant Insert without pillow?
Can I use my Easy Snug infant insert without the pillow? Yes, if your baby is larger or taller and does not fit within the Easy Snug infant insert with the pillow but still requires head and neck support, you can just use the outer shell of the infant insert to ensure baby’s neck is properly supported.
Can you use Ergo baby carrier without infant insert?
Once your baby has strong head control and is comfortable with her legs splayed (vs froggy) and her knees reaching the end of the carrier, usually about 4-6 months, you can use an Ergobaby baby carrier without the infant insert.
