Can you swim in Winterton beach?
This is a sandy beach with plenty to keep your mini merpeople busy. Water babies can paddle in the shallows or have a properly splashy swim in the sea. It’s also a great spot for surfing so if you don’t mind getting wet, have a go at hanging ten!
Is Winterton beach nice?
Winterton beach is a perfect traditional family friendly beach, all about sand and sea, not about amusements and arcades. It’s also a great dog walking beach with no restrictions, you mustn’t forget the pets!

AT Winterton we share our beautiful beach with some amazing wildlife, especially the grey and common seals that live at nearby Horsey. Wander along the shoreline at any time of year and the chances are you will see one or two of them people watching as they swim up and down our stretch of coast.

Winterton Beach public toilets are located at the end of Beach Road in Winterton, near Great Yarmouth, handy for days on Winterton Beach. Open daily from 9am until dusk during the summer season with disabled facilities available.

When it’s hot and sunny, the seals typically leave the beach each morning by 7:00 or 8:00am at the latest. They’ll gradually return to the sand in the late afternoon or early evening, once the shade and/or tide has cooled off the sand.

North Norfolk District Council have today opened their toilets at the southern end of Beach Road and, on Saturday 23rd May, we will open our toilets at The Lookout at the entrance to Holkham Beach and at the northern end of Beach Road in Wells-next-the-Sea.
What does seal poop look like?
What does fur seal poop look like, and how do know which seal it comes from? Graham: It’s similar to dog feces. It’s about that size, about the same consistency. It smells a little bit stinkier than dog feces.
Is Holkham Beach free?
Open 6am to 9pm. *Purchase of an all day parking ticket allows free parking on the same day in Holkham Park during the visitor season. On busy days our overflow car park will be opened, which means parking on grass and walking a little further to the beach.
Can you swim at Holkham Beach?
Besides pines, the beach is backed by sea lavender and golden dunes, and a row of shabby-chic, brightly painted beach huts. Look out for dark green fritillary butterflies and peregrine falcons. But take care swimming – only swim where it is marked safe by red and yellow flags as there are strong tidal currents.
Do seagulls eat poop?
The seagulls love eating seal poop so much they can’t wait for it to actually come out of the seal. These overzealous poop-eaters peck at the area around the baby seals buttholes in order to pry out every last drop of feces, and this means inadvertently doing damage.
What animals bury their poop?

Is Holkham Beach car park?
Holkham Beach Car Parking Parking for the beach is along Lady Anne’s Drive. This is just off the main coastal road, A149 and opposite the entrance to Holkham village.
