Sankey tank, one of the few remaining tanks in central Bangalore, was constructed in the 1870s by chief engineer Col. Sankey to augment the water supply to two important reservoirs: Miller’s tank and Dharmambudhi tank, which supplied water to the cantonment and municipality respectively.
