Who owns Hinson clutches?

Wayne Hinson
About. In 1992, Wayne Hinson founded Hinson Clutch Components. A general contractor by trade, Wayne had an extreme passion for motorsports, and spent most of his adult life pursuing that passion in the form of drag racing, powerboating, and of course, off-road motorcycling and ATVing.

Does Hinson make an auto clutch?

The Hinson BTL is a slipper clutch and the Rekluse z-Start is an automatic clutch. In essence a slipper clutch is basically a handling device. It disengages the clutch when the engine registers significant deceleration. This frees up the rear suspension by lessening chain torque.

Are all rekluse clutches automatic?

Rekluse offers six different options across the auto and manual clutch categories for dirt bikes. Although known for their automatic clutch systems, Rekluse makes state-of-the-art manual clutch packages.

What is clutch cover?

The clutch cover is the operating device of the clutch assembly of a manual transmission automobile. The clutch cover directly affects the starting, shifting and reversing of the automobile.

Is Hinson better than Rekluse?

The only difference we both felt was that the Rekluse had a little more bite (or pop/excitement) out of corners than the Hinson. The Hinson had slightly less bottom end hit than the Rekluse, but had slightly better rear wheel traction.

Can you stall a Rekluse clutch?

No Stalling – Since the auto clutch engages and disengages as a function of engine speed and at idle the clutch is set up to be disengaged, stalling is not possible. Tunable – Rekluse EXP disks are tunable.

How do I know if my clutch basket is worn?

The clutch lever feels lumpy during clutch engagement/disengagement. Sometimes the lever can feel jerky. These are telltale signs that the clutch basket and/or inner hub is damaged and needs inspection.

What is slipper clutch in KTM?

A slipper clutch is a specialized system developed for performance-oriented motorcycles. It uses a freewheel mechanism to reduce the effects of engine braking when riders decelerate. The benefit is better control and stability, particularly when it comes to rear end of the bike.

Is a clutch cover the same as a clutch pressure plate?

The clutch cover directly affects the starting, shifting and reversing of the automobile. The clutch cover mainly has a friction plate on the clutch pressure plate, just like the brake plate on the wheel, it is made of very wear-resistant asbestos and copper wire.

Is pressure plate and clutch cover the same?

Pressure Plate – This presses the clutch disc against the flywheel to transmit the engine’s power. Diaphragm spring – This moves the pressure plate inside the clutch cover. Clutch cover – This manipulates the pressure plate and presses it against the clutch disk.

Can you still use clutch with rekluse?

Unless you have mastered clutchless shifting, the clutch lever is still used when shifting gears. Rekluse auto clutches automatically engage and disengage the clutch based on engine RPM. The option for rider modulation of the clutch via the lever is retained, but unnecessary, except for during shifting.

Do Supercross riders use the clutch?

Pro motocross racers do shift but won’t typically use the clutch after takeoff.
