Why does my lipo charger keep saying connection break?

If you get Connection Break the problem is possibly the cable from the battery to the charger. It could be a dirty connector either on one end of the connector or on the battery itself. Get some electronic contact cleaner and clean all the pins and sockets associated with the cable, battery and charger.

What do you do when your LiPo battery says low voltage?

You can fix the problem by simply bring back to the proper charge for your charge to detect it. Get a reliable NiMH charger from a reputable and trusted manufacturer. Once getting it the charger, you need to set it to the estimated voltage to your LiPo pack, for instance, 7.2V for a 7.4V pack.

Should you always charge LiPo?

So when charging LiPo batteries, usually you only have to adjust to the charge current. It’s recommended to always use balance charging. Balancing chargers ensure that all the cells are charged evenly and there are no differences in voltages between them.

Can I use LiPo charger for LiFe?

One you would have to remove the battery when the cells reach full at 3.6v. A lipo charges to 4.2v which is too high for a life.

What is the minimum voltage for a LiPo battery?

3.0v/cell
LiPo batteries are fully charged when they reach 4.2v/cell, and their minimum safe charge, as we will discuss in detail later, is 3.0v/cell. 3.7v is pretty much in the middle, and that is the nominal charge of the cell. In the early days of LiPo batteries, you might have seen a battery pack described as “2S2P”.

How do I know if my LiPo battery is bad?

LiPo batteries don’t have an expiry date printed on them, but from my personal experience, new batteries almost always perform better than old batteries, even when they just sit there and not being used much. I generally find batteries that are 12 to 18 months old to start showing noticeable drop in performance.

Should I discharge my LiPo battery?

Never discharge a LiPo battery below 3.0v per cell. Ideally you never want to go below 3.2v per cell to maintain a healthy battery. 2.9v per cell and lower is causing permanent damage.

Can I use damaged LiPo battery?

Batteries that have lost 20% of their initial capacity should be removed from service and disposed of properly. If at any time you see any physical damage in a LiPo battery such as swollen cell, split, or tear in the cell’s foil covering, STOP usage immediately and dispose of battery at a local recycling location.
